Pay attention to staying connected. For example, we have an optional Being Humans meeting for 30 minutes before our weekly all hands -- we divide into 4 person breakouts with random, silly, fun, or insightful topics that are not work related. Also, plan at least one in-person offsite per year (use the budget you saved from office rent!). It is a joy to watch people buzz off each other when they meet in person for the first time.

It's important to find time to connect with people in real life. Absolutely, leverage tools like video conferencing and chat functions to connect, but also find opportunities to be in the same room with colleagues and work friends too. The foundation for all good things starts and ends with relationships. Find ways to meaningfully celebrate and console as well as collaborate with the people on your teams.
You need to work really hard to be inclusive. FOMO is real and so recording all meetings and summarising them in a tldr post on Confluence solves a large part of this.

Our offices have games such as pool or table tennis for casual social breaks during the work day. Unfortunately, these only really work for people who happen to be on site, remote folks can't really participate at all. But a group within the company started playing video games on Fridays, which is one of the few game activities that are remote friendly. On Fridays we typically have 4-8 people playing Starcraft across 4 different states (California, Washington, New York, and Florida). It's been a lot of fun, and remote folks are on equal footing with everyone else which is great.
